Changes in Exercise:

Notes

In a period of just over eight weeks, Debbie has lost 16 pounds. But, more importantly, she has completely changed the shape of her body. She has increased her strength, and stamina. The addition of muscle has changed her metabolism, allowing her to burn fat easier. Plus, it has helped to reshape Debbie’s least favorite part of her body which she calls “the bye-bye arms,” which are also known as the triceps. Overall, Debbie is considerably more firm and tone. Debbie has also gone down four dress sizes.

Debbie was an ideal test subject, as she is at a point in her life where fitness, and the desire to lose some extra weight, has become a real priority for her. She has been extremely diligent with her workout routines using VERSA STICK™, as well as her cardiovascular regimen. She had been walking, and working out for some time, but not seeing the results she wanted. So, under this program designed by Chadwick Slagle she completely stopped working out in a gym environment, and started working out exclusively with VERSA STICK™. Debbie has been performing her resistance training 3 times a week for approximately 20-30 minutes at a time. Debbie has also stepped up the frequency, and amount of time she has been walking to 4-5 times a week, for up to an hour long on most days. But, most of the times that she works out, the two elements are combined. Debbie will walk/jog in the park, and stop periodically to workout with the VERSA STICK™. The entire duration of these workouts is one hour.

There is another major benefit that Debbie has experienced from working out from this program. Debbie suffers from osteopenia, a demineralization, or under mineralization, of the bone. The most common cause of osteopenia is osteoporosis, and nearly 55% of Americans aged 50 and over are threatened with this disease. With this workout regimen, Debbie has greatly increased her bone density over the past couple months, and her doctor agrees that the resistance training being done with the VERSA STICK™, coupled with her intense walking regimen is the reason for this progress.

Debbie’s Personal Beliefs and Observations:

Debbie’s biggest reasons for preferring the VERSA STICK™ to the gym where she use to train is that, she has no idea how to use most of the gym equipment. Most pieces of gym equipment look really confusing, look the same as the last piece she used, and/or confuse her greatly when it comes to adjusting the resistance levels and seats. That, along with the smell of a sweaty gym, the number of people working out so close to her, and being stuck indoors are all major deterrents.

To Debbie, the VERSA STICK™ not only allows her to get a quick and easy workout by herself, but she can do it outside at the park, during her morning walk or even in the privacy of her own home, straight out of bed in the morning. The different level resistance bands, each with a different color, are much easier to adjust and remember than the machines at the gym. Plus, the fact that it is so portable would keep her from skipping workouts while she is traveling, since she can easily take it along with her.
